Evangelism Plus
stott
Christianity Today interviews John Stott on evangelicalism. The great elder statesman articulates several key points on the Bible, Jesus, and modern Christianity. He points out the need to witness to the secular world in our own neighborhoods and understand their craving for significance and community. He also emphasizes three things evangelicals should do in the near future:
  • become more like Christ, radically different from the world. (he sounds like a Mennonite here!)
  • permeate non-Christian society.
  • actively work to change society.
Do you agree with Stott's closing paragraph, where he says that evangelical's social agenda should include such vital but controversial topics as halting climate change, eradicating poverty, abolishing armories of mass destruction, responding adequately to the AIDS pandemic, and asserting the human rights of women and children in all cultures?

What do you think?
